Crystal Tech Strategy Guide

How to approach the crystal tech tree efficiently — for all spending levels.

General Strategy — All Players

  1. Invest into Crystal Cost Reduction first (Research Center + Cutting Corners I & II = 25% off)
  2. Then push straight to Special Concoction II — 25% healing cost reduction on T5 troops
  3. Focus one troop type to get there fast. Once unlocked, all other troop type techs open up and you can pick and choose

Order: Mines lvl 25 → Research Center lvl 25 → Cutting Corners I (max) → Cutting Corners II (max) → Special Concoction II

Pop-up buyers and higher spenders should max the economy tree on Day 1.

F2P / Small Spender (~$20)

Same as General Strategy, with one extra step — push some combat tech before Pass 4, then max economy after the fight.

  1. Mines lvl 25 → Research Center lvl 25 (or 18 if short on crystals)
  2. Cutting Corners I & II → some combat tech (before Pass 4)
  3. After Pass 4 fight: Cultural Exchange 15 → Barbarian Bounties 15 → Karaku Reports 15 → Special Concoction I
  4. Push to Special Concoction II. Skip Leadership I & II if F2P — go straight for other troop type stats instead

With only $20 + correct bastions you can enter King's Land with ~3 troop types nearly maxed and Special Concoction II done.

Why Special Concoction II?

+15%healing cost reduction from Special Concoction I
+25%healing cost reduction from Special Concoction II (T5 troops)
+10%healing cost reduction from VIP 17 (example)
~50%total resource reduction — means you fight longer and contribute more in KvK
